Modestly belittling yourself in print

Frit came across this, written by former UN prosecuter Carla del Ponte, in which she glorifies one of her friends by pompously glorifying herself: “Natasa and I are very similar in character and attitude — despite the hate messages we both constantly receive, we never give up and never shut up. Being absolutely uncompromising in the face of serious human-rights violations is a connection with Natasa Kandic that I intensely enjoy.”

Frit would dearly like to use this site to publish his own glowing descriptions of himself, but somehow he just doesn’t have the shameless sanctimonious gall.
